26 January 2026, Model Degree College, Malkangiri. 77th Republic Day

On Monday, 26 January 2026, Model Degree College, Malkangiri celebrated the 77th Republic Day with patriotic fevour and disciplined zeal. The event marked a significant occasion in the college calendar, honoring the adoption of the Constitution of India and reaffirming the ideals of justice, liberty, and equality.

The programme began early in the morning with the unfurling of the National Flag at the college ground. Faculty members, students, and non-teaching staff assembled in large numbers to witness the flag hoisting ceremony. As the tricolour soared high, the National Anthem was sung with deep respect, filling the entire campus with a sense of pride and unity.

Following the flag hoisting, the Principal addressed the gathering, highlighting the constitutional significance of Republic Day and urging the students to uphold democratic values and contribute meaningfully to society. Patriotic songs, recitations, and speeches by students added vibrancy to the event, showcasing not only love for the country but also an understanding of India’s democratic heritage.

“TOGETHER WE HEAL” MODEL DEGREE COLLEGE MALKANGIRI.2025-26

The seminar titled “Together We Heal: Preventing Suicidal Tendencies Through Connection and Care” was organized in the college hall to raise awareness about suicide prevention among college students. The session emphasized the importance of emotional connection, compassion, and mutual support in building a healthy and caring campus environment.

The event aimed to educate students on understanding the warning signs of suicidal thoughts, the role of mental health awareness, and the significance of timely support and communication. It highlighted how feelings of loneliness, stress, and academic pressure can lead to emotional struggles, and how empathy, friendship, and open dialogue can help prevent such tendencies.

This seminar was conducted by the Psychology Department of our college ( Ms Pratistha Nayak, Ms Madhusmita Medinira, Ms Lipika Das),the seminar created a safe and supportive space for students to explore  their thoughts and emotions. It encouraged everyone to take responsibility for fostering understanding and care within the college community.

The key message of the program was that every connection counts and every life matters. Through collective efforts and compassionate action, we can help one another heal, prevent suicidal tendencies, and promote mental well-being among students.

“HAR GHAR TIRANGA” RALLY 14th AUGUST 2025 MODEL DEGREE COLLEGE MALKANGIRI .

A “Har Ghar Tiranga” rally was organized by college students to celebrate the 79th anniversary of India’s independence, promoting national pride and unity. The rally involved students, faculty, and sometimes local community members, marching with flags and banners, and concluding with a program or gathering at a designated location. Some events also included flag distribution to residents and shopkeepers, encouraging them to participate in the campaign by hoisting the flag.
