“TOGETHER WE HEAL” MODEL DEGREE COLLEGE MALKANGIRI.2025-26
The seminar titled “Together We Heal: Preventing Suicidal Tendencies Through Connection and Care” was organized in the college hall to raise awareness about suicide prevention among college students. The session emphasized the importance of emotional connection, compassion, and mutual support in building a healthy and caring campus environment.
The event aimed to educate students on understanding the warning signs of suicidal thoughts, the role of mental health awareness, and the significance of timely support and communication. It highlighted how feelings of loneliness, stress, and academic pressure can lead to emotional struggles, and how empathy, friendship, and open dialogue can help prevent such tendencies.
This seminar was conducted by the Psychology Department of our college ( Ms Pratistha Nayak, Ms Madhusmita Medinira, Ms Lipika Das),the seminar created a safe and supportive space for students to explore their thoughts and emotions. It encouraged everyone to take responsibility for fostering understanding and care within the college community.
The key message of the program was that every connection counts and every life matters. Through collective efforts and compassionate action, we can help one another heal, prevent suicidal tendencies, and promote mental well-being among students.
